Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When will the next episode be posted?
A: We upload a new episode about once per week.
Q: What's the point of this?
A: It was just as fun to make as it was to shoot. The band has decided that if this series can get 1,000,000 online viewings, they'll tour again...
Q: What can I do to help?
A: Well, obviously, WATCH. But there are lots of other easy ways you can help:
-SUBSCRIBE to our channels! Click for subscriber links to Crackle, Revver, and YouTube.
-RATE our videos - "thumbs-up" on Crackle, "five stars" on YouTube or Revver.
-SAVE our videos to your FAVORITES on each site.
-EMAIL YOUR FRIENDS about our little project.
-EMBED the videos on your Myspace, Facebook, Digg, Yahoo, and Friendster pages.
Q: How do I subscribe?
A: It's slightly different on each video site, but generally, you click on our CHANNEL NAME (which is almost always "FloppyJohn"), and then click "Subscribe." For YouTube, simply click here and then click the button that says "subscribe." If you already have a YouTube username, just log in. If not, YouTube will ask you to create one (it's free and easy).
Q: How do I embed your videos on MySpace, Facebook, etc?
A: Many channels provide you with CODE that you can copy and paste into your profile on any social networking site. We find CRACKLE.COM to be the easiest - it's basically one click and you're done...
Q: Where can I buy Strawman's music?
A: Physical CDs can be purchased from Strawman's web site, CDbaby.com, and occasionally on Ebay. Downloads can be found at iTunes, MusicNet, Rhapsody, Napster, Emusic, Bitmunk, Tradebit, GroupieTunes, Payplay, MusicIsHere, and literally dozens of other sites.
Q: Is Strawman getting back together?
A: That depends on YOU. If these videos are viewed more than 1,000,000 times, we promise to play at least a couple of shows in/near our hometown of DC. We're also hopeful that 1,000,000 viewings would land us a sponsor who would help us get back out on the road...
Q: Why did Strawman break up?
A: Watch the videos.
Q: When did Strawman break up?
A: The last show Strawman played was DC101's "Non-Denominational Xmas Show," with Skindred and Crossfade, in December 2004.
Q: Which sites carry the Strawman videos?
A: So far, they are up on Crackle, Revver, LiveVideo and YouTube, but we will be adding to more in the near future.
Q: Are the guys from Strawman playing in other bands right now?
A: Mark the bassist is currently playing and recording with Aggromatic. Singer Floppy is working with The Kardiac Kids. Check them out!
Q: Where can I send love notes, hate mail, and other missives?
A: John@JohnCharlesMeyer.com
Q: Is Strawman on any social networking sites?
A: Yes, though we didn't figure them out until after we stopped playing live shows. You can find us on Myspace and Facebook.
Q: What happened to Strawman's old message board?
A: Some asshole hacked it, and we lost all 30,000+ posts. However, there is a NEW message board on the Kardiac Kids site, and you can post about Strawman there.
